Who is Dickson Mbeya?

Meet Dickson, an award-winning cartographer and an experienced geospatial professional with more than 8 years of experience in utilising geospatial technologies to derive information products. Dickson has been teaching GIS and Remote Sensing in a higher-learning institution for 7 years. He teaches Cartography, GIS and Remote Sensing at the Malawi University of Science and Technology. Dickson is a master of industry-standard commercial and open-source GIS, mapping and satellite image processing software, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Story Map Builder, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Business Analyst, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS Survey 123, QGIS Desktop, SuperMap iDesktopX, Google Earth pro and Google Earth Engine. His skill set extends to advanced geospatial data analysis using JavaScript, Python, R and GDAL. Dickson has contributed to and led several GIS and Remote Sensing projects. consistently delivering impactful results. Dickson is passionate about harnessing the power of geospatial technology to make a difference.
